How To Use The Notifiation Area & Show Desktop Button

14 How To Use The Notification Area & Show Desktop Button (Script)

The notification area in is the right half of the Windows taskbar. The taskbar is by defaut at the bottom edge of the desktop, but can be dragged to any other edge.

For other computer tutorials and articles, click the link below this video. If the link is not shown, or does not work, pause this tutorial and write down the web address shown on the display, then type it into your browser. Many video tutorials are on website page "Video Tutorials".

The notification area (also called the system tray) displays icons for certain programs, and shows system icons, such as the volume control and the date/time display.

When the double arrow symbol is displayed on the left end of this area, clicking it will show additional icons.(DEMO)

This is the icon to safely disconnect USB devices connected to your computer. It looks like a USB connector. (Some but not all USB devices can also be disconnected by right-clicking their shortcuts and selecting eject.")

Security programs have an icon here to open their control page.

There is a customize button in the notification, but I recommend you do not use it. It is possible to disable a program by deleting it's system tray icon.

The Show Desktop Button is at the right end of the taskbar. Clicking it hides all open windows on the desktop. This button acts differently when an aero theme is selected. (See Tutorial "How To Activated And Use Aero Desktop THemes.)

That's the end of this tutorial.

 Thanks for watching.
