How To Pretend Your Apple Is A WIndows PC

This is an artcle showing how to use an Apple MacBook Pro as a WIndows PC.
A couple of years ago, a friend talked me into replacing my old PC laptop with a MacBook Pro.  Apple is a fine computer, and may be easier to use for the novice.  Unfortunately, I'm not a novice, and I very accustomed to using a windows PC, and to using programs not availabler for the Apple.

But you can use Apple computers just like PC's.  You can purchase the Windows 7 software (don't buy the Upgrade version, it's new software for your apple), install it on your Apple in the "Bootcamp" mode.  You can then set options so the Apple always starts with Windows, and can always hold down the "options" key while starting or restarting to select whether to open Windows or Apple.

It works just like a Windows PC, with these exceptions:
There is no "backspace" key.  The apple "delete" key works like the PC "backspace" key (it deletes characters to the left of the cursor).
To delete to the right (hold down the "function" key, then press "delete".
To repeat
to "backspace", press the apple "delete" key.
To "delete" hold down the "function" key, then press "delete".
There is no "prtscn" button on the MacBook.  To save the desktop to the clipboard.  Just use the windows "Snip tool":
Click "start", type snip, press enter,
drag rectangle around desktop area you want to capture,
click "edit",  "copy", close the snip tool window, don't save..
You can then paste in the picture by opening Wordpad or any other picture edit/view software.  See tutorial "How To Add Pictures Or Text To Videos".
You may have trouble doing a right-click with the touchpad.
To configure the touchpad to right-click:
Right-click the bootcamp icon in the notification area (it looks like a grey diamond -- you may have to click the "show more icons" icon at the left of the notification area).  Then click "bootcamp control panel", click "yes", click tab "trackpad", check "secondary click", select one of the options in the box, then click "ok".  Whether or not you can right-click with the touchpad, I strongly suggest you just use a mouse that has left and right buttons. A mouse is easier to use than a touchpad.
